| Pickles started life with the name of Spikey. Her first family had two pre-teen boys that wanted a male cat, thus the name. After her family adopted a few more cats, Spikey decided that she didn't want to deal with that anymore and refused to go inside. She started visiting me from time to time and stayed longer and longer. After she bit me for trying to put her out when I had to leave, I talked to her owner and agreed to take her in on a permanent basis. I picked the name of Pickles pretty much out of the air and she took it immediately, never looking back! A few years later, I decided that she should become an indoor cat. That took about a year, but she learned that it was better for her and she accepted it. I moved from Calgary, Canada to the Houston area and brought Pickles with me. She was 10 years old at the time. Our first apartment had broken air conditioning for 5 days before it was fixed. Pickles spent almost all that time looking at me as if to ask "Where are we?" She loves to snuggle with me in bed at night. I was once asked when I knew she was asleep, and it is when she stops purring. She loves visitors, tolerates dogs and does not like other cats. Pickles is the Queen of Princesses and I love her very much. We've developed a level of trust over the years that can't be beat. She loves her daddy and her daddy loves her. Pickles has become sick in the past couple of weeks, so if you get this far, please include her in your prayers. I'm very worried about her.
